Francis Secada

Francis Secada is the founder and lead engineer of Ranked Jobs and the principal of FJS Services Inc., an independent software consultancy based in Brooklyn, NY.

A graduate of CUNY Baruch College's Marxe School of Public and International Affairs with an MPA in Policy Analysis and Public Management, Francis built his career at the intersection of rigorous analytical thinking and production software engineering. That background in public economics, program evaluation, and data-driven policy analysis shapes how he approaches product development today.

Over more than a decade building production systems across financial services (HSBC), healthcare (Cleveland Clinic), and early-stage ventures through FJS Services, he has architected backend platforms, microservice migrations, and ML pipelines using Python, Django, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure. He also maintains TextSpitter, an open-source Python library for file-based text extraction available on PyPI.

He built Ranked Jobs because the analytical tools that help employers evaluate candidates have never been made available to the candidates themselves. The platform is his answer to that gap: career-grade intelligence for every working professional.

When he is not building, Francis can be found playing guitar, at the power rack, or somewhere with something delicious.
